About The Blog
My Story
After returning to Melbourne from a beautiful European holiday full of lots of exquisite food in 2012, I discovered that I was gluten intolerant. I was feeling very sick after meals, breaking out in pimples all over my body and face and was feeling extremely tired, so I decided to go to the doctor and get it checked out.Â
After lots of tests and the dreaded 'elimination diet', I came to realise that I was unfortunately gluten intolerant. As I was a huge lover of pasta, pizza and anything that involved bread, this was heart breaking news.Â
I started to eliminate the usual suspects - bread was first to go, I then cut out pizza and pasta, however, I still felt sick. It wasn't until I started reading the labels of everything I was consuming properly that I realised that gluten really was hiding in everything!
I was completely overwhelmed, a little depressed and feeling not only sad, but very lonely. Who else was gluten free?!
I decided to make this blog so that people don't have to feel the same way as me when they discover that they are gluten intolerant. We all need to work together to find the best and worst products, restaurants and recipes that we can so that we can all live happier and healthier lives whilst gluten intolerant.Â
I hope you all enjoy this blog and learn a few things about gluten along the way!
